It's a funky idea, but I can't believe that it's 8 gallons Has anyone seen these around and could they really support more than two goldfish? I was under the impression goldfish were poop machines. At least they're considerate about the aquarium maintenance needed on their instructions page.

the tank can't hold 2 goldfish, it can't even hold 1. it's just a picture used to advertise, i wish they wouldn't show these types of tanks with goldfish in.]:|]:|]:|

Goldfish require a minimum tank size of 55 gallons, and IMO that's only for fancy goldfish, and only for 2. They do produce alot of waste, additionally they grow to be much much larger than most people realize. Common goldfish are fast swimmers and need not only the space to grow without fear of stunting, but they also need space to swim.

My opinon on biorobs are the same as any small tank, great for a betta, nothing more.

I dont think seeing the Goldfish in a FishBowl advertisement will ever go away...I do want to commend this site however for having a lengthy profile explaining what types of fish belong in this bowl...They go into detail telling the customer to do your research before buying, and to remember the size of the fish at adulthood, not when you buy it..etc....gives questions to ask yourself when researching, etc and telling to wait several weeks before adding new fish each time.....I agree that these are not ideal for anything other than a Betta, but they will never be stopped and atleast this one is giving some reasonable explanation on certain fish for the bowl..

My brother-in-law actually had the same fish bowl. He bought 2 baby white Koi and they died in a week. Bad idea for any fish if you ask me. Would you want to move from a mansion to a studio or a loft?

i would ADORE one of those bowls, but certainly not with 2 goldies in it, eek!

how much does it hold? 30L, i mean, thats a decent sized bowl, and the filtration isnt too scabby... you could theoretically do quite a bit with it...

Plus there are loads of extra attachments available, including a 'special' heater (so I believe) and they come in many different colours. I'm thinking they are aimed at those who would like a nice ornament for their new living room than for the 'serious' fish keeper. But, never the less, neat idea. Be warned though: my LFS has one of these set-up in-store with fish, and the contents are barely visible. The spherical shape and water makes the light disperse in all directions, which sometimes makes the contents difficult to see.
