i am interested in breeding bettas but wondered if it would be a good idea as i do not want to come over run with them.

If you're not sure, it's probably a bad idea. It's very, very involved, requires a lot of work and time, you'd need about three types of live food, a ten gallon aquarium with corner filter, heater, glass tube, about a billion jars ... but the rewards are pretty kickin' if I may say so. don't start breeding bettas if you don't want to give up money or time. breeding might not be for you. it isn't as easy as people say it is.
