When I did it I had a planted setup. They moved the gravel out of the middle of the tank, and used the glass to spawn on. They defended their eggs non stop from a young 3 inch Jack Dempsey. They will keep the fry together in a central location, moving them every now and then across the tank. They are tireless in defending their young. I ended up with 20 3 inch fry once it all was said and done. I didn't do anything special to feed them as this was an unplanned spawn. It is an amazing sight. They will pair off on their own and if u are really trying to get them to spawn, a big water change will usually do the trick. |
