And most are hard to come by in the hobby these days. So, you should list those that you maybe can aquire, and thus I can tell you how they will do in these smaller tanks. As some killies will not do well. Last edited by acidrain at 13-Dec-2004 21:29 There is always a bigger fish... |

For this reason they require at least a tank of 10 gals. You might look for some of the Gardeni (sp), as most of these will do very well in a 2.5 tank, and breed on the plants. HTH.... There is always a bigger fish... |

Maybe some kind of breeding tank or something. I could always go bare bottom with potted plants, what do you think would could be a possibility with that? |

ACIDRAIN![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Moderator Posts: 3162 Kudos: 1381 Votes: 416 Registered: 14-Jan-2002 ![]() | Well, when I breed killies in a 2.5 gal tank, I have bare bottoms with plants. This makes it easier to clean the tank. I use sponge filters and a ramshorn snail in each tank to not only help with the algae, but with the production of infusoria as well. But, if you are planning on a 20 gal for a breeder, you might just want the 2.5 gal as a temp fry tank for when your fish in the 20 gal breed. HTH.... There is always a bigger fish... |

I've had peppered cories breed in a two-gallon before while they were temporarily stationed there. |
