Eh, I wouldn't risk it. These 'sharks' tend to be intolerant of their own kinds and of other fish. Since these two cyprinids are pretty similar in looks and habits, there's a good chance that there would be aggression if they were kept together.

I don't know this for sure, but I'm just using logic. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Rtbs may not always kill the rainbow the depense on the size i have a big rainbow shark 6in at least that would wip all rtbs that i see cause they dont grow as big. Either way dont do it cause youll end up with one dead fish.

It all depends what thtey are with at the shop
my petshop has albino, redtail, and rainbow sharks in a 2ft tank and there fine.
But anyway I wouldn't guarantee them living peacefully for long!

One Red Tailed Shark or one Rainbow Shark per aquarium. You can't have more then one of any of the Epalzeorhynchus family in an aquarium. One will kill the other.

All of these "Sharks" need an aquarium of 55g or more to live and grow properly. Any less and they become hostile and stunt.

I had two rtbs when i was first starting out in a 55 gallon tank, and they sat in the exact center of the tank and pushed each other back and forth... they later perished. I wouldn't suggest more than one, as noted before.

Only if you have an extremely large aquarium (I've even heard of people sucessfully keeping more than one male betta in tanks 180 gallons and above...). Generally speaking, though, no.

Logically, if the occur in the same range, they will naturally come into contact with each other. But having enough room for one to retreat isn't something that most aquariums provide.
