I am interested in info on this fish i heard they breed in lower temps like 68 degrees. I could put my tank in the basement with a heater to keep it at 68, a question i have is what are possible tank mates that can tolerate the cold as well? preferably some bottom feeders and something to eat algae.

What size tank would you be putting them into? I know dojo loaches prefer cooler temps, but I don't know how cold, and adding them would depend on the size of the tank.

Zebra danios and white cloud mountain minnows would do great at cooler temperatures And the cool thing too, is if you have nice lighting and good ferts, you can have madagascar lace plants

Yes, the madagascar lace plant is a very nice plant, preferring cooler temperatures of 60-75 fahrenheit or so. The one i got didn't like 78, and it just kinda croaked out. One should do well if you have the right parameters

*editage* i guess i should link to some dOOds picture
