So I left my house for the day and returned to find 1 neon missing. I figured, he might have gotten sick and gotten "disposed of" by the cories. Just today idcounted 9 neons. I left for no more then two hours and returned to find 8 neons. No evidence of the neon at all. Could they have jumped out? this is the only thing I can think of that could have happened. The tank is a 55 gallon with 1 3 spotted gourami, 1 ram, 8 neons (2 missing), 6 cories, and
5 ghost shrimp. Temp is 78 F. Im almost posotive my parameters are all at 0. Please help

with a tank that size, the 2 neons may be hiding in a nook or cranny. wait a bit and see if they pop up. depending on your setup- is it possible a filter intake sucked them up? i have never had rams, but my gor. and corries never chomped neons.

They could have died & got eaten by the other fish. Do you have hiding places or plants in your tank?. They could hide & you don't see them.

there are a few hiding places I have checked. Mostly caves. My suspicion is that they died and were eaten. I know one of them was looking a bit ill. Thankfully no more have disappeared since then. Thanks for the help.

What filtration do you have?

Is there a canopy on the tank?

Check every nook and cranny, you don't want to have a decaying fish ammonia poision your tank, even though I'm sure 2 little neons won't do TOO much to a 55. If they were looking a little sickly, you might want to make sure that nobody else has the sickness too...things could turn nasty.
