Are you sure it's coming from your filter? I had strange colored water for a while when I was changing water. It ended up coming from the decor. Removed promptly.
Maybe you should try cleaning out your filters, not just changing the medium. You know, a good ol fashioned scrub down. As long as your fish aren't feeling out of it, I see no reason for alarm, I guess, though pink water does look sort of wierd.

Did you feed your fish with Cichlid Gold pellets? My filter suck it in and it now turn my filter media, which use to be white, and now its bright pink. Check your media and try washing it out.

I keep wood in two of my tanks, I once had a piece leaching and discoloring my water. I put a bag of active carbon behind my filter and in 2 days crystal clear. I bought the bag and carbon at a lfs.

sry i havn't repelied b/c i was at bandcamp for ever. anyway nope i haven't feed that tank with anything but tetramin coldfish flakes. this happens to me alot but it doesn't seem to affect the fish. another tank is pink also. any answers.
