went to the LFS and saw an amazing fire eel! never heard of this eel and the info ive found ont he web isnt consistent. so please help with my search on info thats reliable!

i know they get huge, and, like most spiny eels, are e to jumping out, so a top is necessary. if they're anything like the eels i keep (tiretrack,zigzag,peacock), they will LOVE live foods...and may ONLY eat live food. do a google search for "fire eel" and you'll get lots of info.

i tried the google search and i went to three different sites and got three completly different types of info. the length ranged from 8in-14in-40in. so i have no clue to which one is correct. but the good news is i have an empty 30usg if he only gets 8in, a 75usg if he gets 14in, and 120usg if he gets 40inches. so i just need the dependable info!

i should have been more specific...when i said "huge" i meant "huge" as in it will get closest to the 40" size! a 75g might be adequate for one of these guys for a long time though, because of their timid nature and abnormal shape.
