I have the tank sitting on a window sill. During the day, the binds are always open, so the tank should be getting plenty of sunlight. I have had the tank like this for 6 days now, and so far I haven't noticed anything different. How long does it take to grow algae? Is there something I need to add to the water to help the process along? |

Why do you want algea so bad anyway? In 2 weeks you wont know what to do. ________________________________________ The calming qualities of a good aquarium are irrefutable |

The ottos seems fine with the sinking wafers, but I figured they would really like to have some real algae to nibble on. The hex tank was only used for water changes. And now for growing algae. So if I am over-run by algae in that tank, that's ok. [span class="edited"][Edited by T/A 2004-08-03 20:16][/span] |

Thanks! That's what I was thinking of doing this weekend, when I do water changes on my other tanks. Hopefully that will be what's needed, then my ottos can enjoy some real algae. ![]() |
