1) they r full fresh water puffers
2) not sure the exact limit for such a big tank but i usually say 1 dwarf for 3 gallons so i would get 8-10.
3) most plants can go with them fine.
try to get 1 male to 3-5 females. they can be sexed by a line along the belly of the male and wrinkles behind the males head. i hear juvies can be sexed by freckles on the females head, but not sure about that.

Nope I dont think so. Still I would follow the 1 dwarf to 2-3 gallon rule.

With dwarf puffers I don't think the tank being hexagon will make a difference, with larger fish it would. In my opinion fake plants are a lot easier to deal with. The more plants you add the less chance there will be of any aggression in the tank.

Because hex's are taller they tend to have less surface area. Whether or not this will play a role in stocking DP's im not sure. I suppose it could lead to more aggression because theres less floor space to claim a territory. I would err on the side of caution and get 2. Maybe look into an F8 instead and make it brackish
