yup, you could do that. If you went by the 1 inch of fish per gallon, you could have 265 inches of fish. BUt to be safe I always cut that in half, by assuming that all the fish are 2 inches. So I would say tou can put around 130-150 inchs of fish.

inches per gallon is for tetras fairly much. You could keep lots and lots of fish in a 265 gallon, heck you could likely clone a person like in a science fiction movie with a tank that big! What you'll want to do is look at 2 things to determine how many more fish you can have; their behaviour, and the rate of nitrate build-up. If your fish look colorfull and stress free, and your water changes are keeping the nitrates down, you can likely add more. Of course theres a point of reason with this, give some room around each fish, make sure anything that doesn't school has a place to call home in some way. As an instance, my rams have the lowwer parts of a large artificial plant, the krib takes up behind a large immitation peice of bark or the peice of mopani at the other end of my tank, and my albino BN has a house, the plant he likes to clean, and the mopani wood to suck on all at one end of the tank.
