I knew there was something else I wanted to do this weekend. The last time I actually removed stuff to siphon was probably a couple months ago. And I only did that because I rearranged my one tank for a better look. I actually didn't see much under the rocks last time. I guess that's why I never really think about doing that on a regular basis. |

I have never removed things to clean under them. I do vac out over the tops of the plants in the tank, but usually allow the mulm to accumulate. The plants love it and the fish don't seem to mind. All four of my tanks have decent plant growth and healthy fish as well as great water quality. The nitrate level seldom goes above 10 ppm. I do 20-30% weekly water changes. |

The loaches and BN hide under it and make a mess. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ There is water at the bottom of the ocean |

And just like a few months ago, I only found one small grain of dirt. I'm guessing it all depends on how the decorations are positioned, the strength of the filter, and the type of fish in the tank. Apparently, I have the right combo in this tank. One little piece of dirt, in a couple months, I'd say thats pretty good. |
