My 30g has an angel and black phantom tetras. I'm looking for ideas, maybe a fish that does well alone, max length ~6" or so. So far I've found moonlight and pearl gouramis but was wondering if there's anything else I could consider. Doesn't really matter what species as long as it would get along with the angel and tetras.

There are 8 black phantoms so I don't want or need to increase the school.

Maybe a variety of Rainbowfish, Synodontis catfish, or a school of cories...just for a few more possibilities...

PM/email/msg me if you have any questions/comments regarding me or my knowledge or if you want me to read a thread.

Do all rainbowfish have to be in schools or are there any that do well singly or in pairs?

unfortunately, I can't really help you there...I think there's some that can do well by themselves, but I'd hate to recommend one and be wrong. I'm sure a rainbowfish expert'll swing by in the near future... *Goes to chat to try to find a rainbowfish expert for ya*

Rainbowfish like the company of their own species, but I wouldn't do less than three. Two males per female is reccomended. Males are known to become aggressive if there isn't enough females.
