It says that they can grow to be up to 6 in long. How hard is it to keep them and how big does the tank have to be if the puffer lives there by itself? is it aggressive? Can it live in a 10 gal by itself? |

It's hard to tell the difference between the two. But the leopards are known as green spotted puffers. They do get about 6 in. They are aggressive, more so when they get older/bigger. I wouldn't add tankmates, though some have had success. They are very intolerant. They eat live/frozen food-brine shrimp or blood worms(if you're lucky you can get them to eat frozen). You also need to add live "pond" snails periodically(I do it once a week)to keep their beaks trimmed. My pet store gives these to me from their plants. Otherwise they're grow out and they won't be able to eat. They need plants/caves to hide in. You could start with a 10(but it's not really that when you add the substrate & decor/plants), but he won't be happy in there, I'd go for at least a 20. |

Wherever you got that info (probably Puffernet) it is wrong. there is only 1 commercially available "spotted" puffer, commonly called the green spotted puffer. It is a high-end Bw puffer that does best in SW as an adult. See: http://www.wetwebmedia.com/BrackishSubWebIndex/gspsart.htm |
