Ok heres the deal. I have a 29 gallon tank heavily planted (fake and real). The fish that currently inhabit this tank are 8 dwarf puffers, 5 ottos, and a rtbs. I am perhaps looking for one more semi-agressive fish that is 4" or under to add to my tank. If anyone has any suggestions please speak up

i am sure to get flamed for this- but may i suggest a male betta? the dwarf puffers are more then likely hugging the bottom of the tank, and the ottos should be pretty much invisible to aggressive fish. if your rtbs is not too aggressive, the addition to your described tank setup (heavily planted, understocked) of a male betta may work out well.

hmmm i dont really have any ideas, but some info that might help us would be if you told us what the temperment of the RTBS is? I have seen really mean ones and I have seen ones that were perfect gentlemen heehee. this might be a big deciding factor on tankmates.

the rtbs seems really friendly so far. I have seen no aggression since i got him monday. Only problem i see with a betta in the tank is they don't like the current from the filter.

I don't think that a betta would work out. With those long fins, the dwarf puffers would just nip the poor fish to death, or at least eat its fins off.

I don't know if you should add any other fish right now, anyways. The shark needs lots of room to swim in, and the puffers take up space, as well. Plus, I can't think of any small, semi-aggressive fish off the top of my head right now.:%)

And when he gets to Heaven, to Saint Peter he will tell: "One more Marine reporting, Sir! I've served my time in Hell."

I can think of plenty of small semi-aggressive fish, but the tank's currently overstocked as it is. A male betta would get destroyed rather quickly by the puffers, and unfortunately there aren't any other fish that would be a good addition to a tank with that stock list...

PM/email/msg me if you have any questions/comments regarding me or my knowledge or if you want me to read a thread.
