One of my tanks recently recovered from a bad outbreak of ich and fungus. I ended up losing a festivum, Bolivian ram, pearl gourami, and moonlight gourami

While I'm not ready to go shopping yet I'm throwing around ideas for new fish. Current stock:

pair of kribs (F/F)
firemouth (M)
pair of keyholes (unknown sexes)
8 black phantom tetras
angel (unknown sex)
6 trilineatus cories
BN
Bolivian ram (unknown sex)

It's a rather peaceful tank except for the firemouth, who is young (small) and has a bit of an attitude It pretty much boils down to chasing away any fish that get near his terriroty, nothing worse than that.

I don't really want another school of anything, and I'm not looking to breed any of my fish. So something that would fit in with the above stock; I've already thought about another Bolivian ram, pearl gouramis, perhaps a second angel...any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Well, unless I missed it, you didn't state your tank size. I assume the tank is at least 55 gallons, because of all the fish in there and the potential sizes of some of them. I would add an angelfish, and maybe a Bolivian ram. Those two fish are on top of my list of favorite cichlids.

Oh no, I'm sorry you lost all those fish!

To me it sounds like you have enough cichlids in the tank. I would go for another pearl or moonlight gourami. Well, I'm biased because I love gouramis, but still, it would fill up the top area of the tank.

Not such a fan of any particular fish, but I do agree, fill up the top. Get something that will fill in the gap, another gourami might not be the worst idea, and I think another cichlid might just throw the balance.
