For reasons that would take to long to explain I have 3 angels and a pleco in a 15-gallon tank and 4 swordtails in a 90-gallon tank. I would like all these fish to trade homes within the next week. What Im looking for is advice on the easiest, safest way to accomplish this. Both tanks are in the same house and run at the same temperature. Thanks for any help.

You could put the water and fish of each tank in some sort of container seperately. Then clean the tanks. Put the gravel, plants, etc. from the 15 in the 90 and then add all of the water and the fish from the 15 into the 90. You will have to gradually add new water to the 90. Then do the same for the other tank.

If they are the same temp, same water, just move them. Do it on tank cleaning day. Siphon water into a bucket and put the fish in it, do it for both tanks. Then clean and rearrange the tanks to your likeing and put the fish where you want them.

I'd suggest moving the fish first....Bag each tank then swap the bags around and acclimate almost as if you were bringing them home from the store. Only difference is you wouldnt' have to worry about disease . Even if they tanks are the "same" I still like to give a bit of extra attention during acclimation.

Pay attention to ammonia and nitrite, you may see a mini-cycle in the 90. If you have extra foam pads in the 15 you might want to move them to the 90 to help that from happening.

Then after a few weeks once everything is stabalized, work on rescaping the tanks if you wish....Of course move any caves that the fish ming need but otherwise wait till everyones settled to rescape.

^_^
