Maybe try some of these...

I don't know much about them, I've been curious about them for some time, so I've just been reading what I cn find.

Augh....mudpuppies are NOT axolotls, they are an entirely different genus and species....Necturus maculosus. Now, where are you located, and did this 'mudpuppy' come to be in your pond from the wild, or did you put him there?

I've seen them about 2 ft long and they eat fish...because thats what we caught it off. From all I know...they eat fish, worms and bugs and that good stuff. They're cold water so if your pond is big enough I think they should be ok outside...after all where I live it gets around 10-20 degrees n sometimes less over night during winter.
