hello hello!

i have three tanks, one of which (a 29G ) i set up as a kind of "catch all" to add neat (and compatable) odds and ends that i come accross.

however, right now its looking kind of empty, and i haven't seen anything lately that has struck my fancy, so of course, i turn to the experts for advice!

the tank (which has been set up for over a year) currently houses:
-4 aphyosemion australes (killies)
-2 white clouds
-4 checkered barbs
-1 queen botia
-1 bolivian ram
-2 gold rams

what is something interesting that i could add, in your opinion?

(other fish that i currently have are threadfin rainbows, rummynose, discus, red-blue columbian tetras, red minor tetras, gold gourami, pearl gourami, harlequin rasboras, panda cories... i think that's everyone... just to give you an idear of what i like! )

thanks in advance!

I would add 4 more to your WCMM, to make a school and maybe give the lonely ram a mate. After that maybe get some type of bottom feeder...maybe some loaches?

The difference between 'involvement' and 'commitment' is like an bacon and egg breakfast: the chicken was 'involved' - the pig was 'committed'."

I understand about keeping odds and ends, but the WCMMs would probably be happier and more active in a larger group.

Loaches like friends as well. Queens are always easy to find, at least not in my area. If that's your situation as well maybe you could add 2 or 3 of a different loach species. I have 2 queens living with 3 kuhlis and they all play, swim, and sleep together.

As far as other fish maybe you could find something that would occupy the top portion of your tank. A small shoal of sparkling gouramis, or perhaps a non-splendens betta...it depends what's available near you and you'd have to research compatability but there are betta species that do well in community tanks.

thanks for the advice!

queens are tough to find, but maybe i could get some yoyos or something?

the WCMM were added originally to start the tank off, and their numbers have since dwindled (i think the killies may have pestered them) but maybe i should get a few more (or some albinos)

choices, choices

There are also gold white clouds and red long finned white clouds. I have a mix of all three and they do school together.
