So I was looking at my fish tank about 10 minutes ago and realized I have absolutely no color in it. I have black sand and a dark background and driftwood and some green and yellow plants. It's a 55 gallon.
My inhabitants are 2 dojo loaches (silverish), 3 zebra loaches (brown and gold), 1 horseface loach (silverish), and 1 rubbernose plec (gray).
So, as you can see, I am in desperate need of something flashy, particularly a school of something flashy and bright and colorful. I was thinking of adding two angels as well, just to keep in mind.

Congo Tetras and Rainbowfish are other brightly-colored choices you may consider.

Congo tetras if you have good light and maybe some bluish light. The 1 actinic on my tank makes them look beautiful. To offset the black maybe a large school of diamond tetras? For a larger fish a gourami might be nice or you could probably put 2 dwarf gouramis in there.

I agree with congos and rainbows A nice lil school of 5 boesemani rainbowfish, or some flashy blue praecox rainbowfish seems to be what the doctor ordered

Thanks for all your help!

Is there anything special I should know about the rainbowfish? I have seen the red and the boesmani at a fish store not too far away, but I have never seen a large enough group to get a whole school.
Also, are the rainbowfish a suggestion instead of the angelfish or with the angelfish?
I have never seen congos around here, but a good LFS does have cardinals for a backup plan. Thanks again
Jen
