What do you like? African cichlids? American cichlids? Tetras? Barbs? Liverbearers? Community tank? Biotope tank? Species tank?

The questions go on and on. Why don't you just try something new? Something you have never done before? Go WiLd with it! Do something odd or different. DO SOMETHING!!

I agree. You can talk about your tank all day long, but its all within your personal interest. Trying something new always makes things interesting for yourself. Me personally I would go with a couple of mouthbrooder cichlids with a bunch of synos. That can be a lot of fun. Or maybe 3-4 discus with some congo tetras and 4-5 different kind of fancy plecos.

well, so far ive come up with 3 possible setups

A) 4-5 angels and a school of mid-size tetras, possibly diamond or bleeding heart.(my only question is will this tank be big enough for 5 adult angels?)

B) a male n 3 female salvini cichlids with a group of some sort of tetras.(ive had salvinis in the past, but only one in a tank at a time. so i dont know if a group can be kept together in a single tank or not)

C)a school of hatchet fish and a school of docile tetras that will leave the hatchets alone.

the only problem is i want ideas for something i havent thought of, i dont want to set this up, go to the lfs, and see some fish that i hadnt thought of. then be ticked off cause i want something different. the only real restrictions are that it cant be a large growing cichlid, not a heavily planted tank(not so good with live plants), and it must be fw(dont have the money or experience for a sw setup).

I don't think the tank is big enough for 5 angels, but 2 or 3 would work.

You could also do something like this:

15 harly rasboras
2 pearl gouramis
6 kuhlie or sidthimunki loaches
2 SAE

They shade the glow of it with their mossy-misty costumes,
They wear masks of silk, porcelain, brass, and silver,
So as not to mislead with their own, ordinary faces.

Yup, they'd like sand. I would assume they are like cories and like playing in it.

3 yellow labs 5 tiger barbs 1 gold nugget pleco 1 chinese algae eater. the nugget the barbs and the labs will all eat frozen blood worms, chinese will eat algae, the labs could easily breed and they are mouth broders and it would be an active tank fun to watch.

Why don't you look around your area and see if there are some fish you hadn't thought of before that take your fancy? Maybe go to a few LFS's you haven't spent much time in (if there are any!). Write a list and research the fish you find, and work it out from there!

good ideas so far. here is a link to a pic of the tank, and ill give the dimensions too. maybe thatll bring out even more ideas.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v147/TIGER9/PIRANHA%20ALBUM/46g2.jpg
ok, the tank is 25in tall w/trim, its 31.5in side to side, and its 24.5in front to back corner. the two panels that make up the back corner are each 22in. and the three panels that form the hex front are each 13in.
Maybe go to a few LFS's you haven't spent much time in (if there are any!).

there are only 2 lfs's in my town(not counting petsmart). but everyone in those to lfs's knows me by name.

that sounds to much like work. thats why im askin yall ...
