Does anyone have any information on these fish? i know there are many diffrent types of gar, the most common ones ive seen in lfs are the long nosed gar (i think that is what they were called) or needle nose gars. i couldnt find any information, so i would really appreciate it. thank you john Last edited by johnnylaw1984 at 21-Oct-2004 19:57 |

IMO not a tank fish @all .![]() ^_^ ![]() |

All true gars exceed three feet in length. ![]() -------------------------------------------- The aquarist is one who must learn the ways of the biologist, the chemist, and the veterinarian. |

(and these fish are ambush predators, best to have a tank wide enough to turn and long enough for a burst of speed. ie, REALLY big. ><> |

They are an interesting fish to keep, although you have to be careful working on the tank. They like fingers, although they generally do not cause any real damage. |
