i bought some new killies at my aquarium club auction the other day, and i need some advice on where to keep them.

i have 3 gold australes (2 male, 1 female) and 2 gold aphyosemion gardeneri. currently, they're all in one of my community tanks, a 29G, which also houses:

-1 large bosemani rainbow (an adoption)
-5 checkered barbs
-2 gold rams
-1 bolivean ram
-3 white clouds
-1 queen botia

i have a spare 10G, 2.5G and 1G. so here's my plan: i am going to move the australes into the 10G in hopes of breeding them...

do you think that the two gardeneri would be fine to leave in the 29G? i'm not determined to breed them, i just think they're pretty.

does this sound like a good idea? if you have any other suggestions, let me know!

thanks

Its find to breed the australes in the 10 gallon. I have had bad luck keeping gardneris with community fish. They tend to be semi aggressive and bit my other fishes. I would find missing fins just about every time I look.

Most killifish are not the best choice for a community tank.

You could easily move the 3 australes into the 10G though I'm not sure if they will fight or not, some species will if it's only 2 males in one tank.

For the 2 Gardeneri, you can place them in the 2.5G
