My pH is 7.6 right now and I want to lower it to about 6.4 for my Bolivian Rams and my tetras. So anyone think this is a good idea?...also do you think this product would work?...Thanks ![]() [edit]can panda cory's tollerate that low of pH plus a lower GH? This results in fewer pH swings. If you want, you can use reverse osmosis/distilled water and then use a reclaim chemistry as well as a bullseye pH product to achieve your desired water conditions. |

"Discus Buffer helps to replicate the ideal Discus environment(low pH and low GH (General Hardness)). Discus Buffer will lower pH and keep it lowered. Discus buffer also softens water by precipitating calcium and magnesium. Use Discus Trace to restore the proper level of trace elements required by thriving, healthy Discus" These are the directions... "Use 1 level teaspoon for every 10 gallons daily until intended pH is reached. Thereafter, use once a month or with water changes as required to maintain pH. To raise pH, use Neutral Regulator. To target a particular pH use in combination with Neutral Regulator following the chart below. This chart assumes the use of unbuffered water (RO or DI). If water is already buffered use the chart as a starting guide. use these ratios to target pH Neutral Regulator Discus Buffer pH 1 : 1 6.8 1 : 2 6.4 " So what do you think? [edit]i have neutral regulator [span class="edited"][Edited by Tetra Fan 2004-08-10 16:57][/span] |

I started buying r/o water from my local water and ice store at 25 cents a gallon. I add aquarium salt to replenish the trace elements. You can always combine r/o water with your tap water until you get the desired ph. |
