Definately a Pearl Gourami.

One of the most beautiful freshwater fish and peaceful. I keep Gouramies with Angel and no problems, actually they get on quite well.

go for some rams... but a rtbs would do just as well always have had them with my angels and few problems. although they do like to eat algae eaters... at least in my experience thats been the only problem.

I would say pearl gouramis, a breeding pair would suit that tank great

Definintly a pearl cause they are BEAUTIFUL, and definintly not at rtbs, cause they need a 55 min.

I have a moonlight and he is great. Not timid like everyone says...rather comical as he interacts with the others in the tank. Either gourami would look splended.

I saw one in the store the other day...it's such an awesome fish. Also, you said you wanted pairs and RTBS can't really be kept in pairs. Unless you have a huge tank.

I'd go with the gourami over the RTS because the RTS needs a larger tank. I'd also go with the gourami over the angel because I'm not too large of a fan of angels and DO like gourami a lot...

PM/email/msg me if you have any questions/comments regarding me or my knowledge or if you want me to read a thread.

1 pearl gourami. RTBS get too big for a 30g IMO and angels also get too big for a 30g, but its your choice

I'm trying to find something of a centerpiece fish for my 30g. It's my dark tank, has an angel, black phantom tetras, and trilineatus cories. I'd like a single fish around 4-6", or perhaps something smaller that could be kept in a pair (and won't get overly territorial if breeding). Has to get along with current fish in the tank.

I've been doing lots & lots of reading, these are the options I have so far. If anyone has any other suggestions please let me know.
[option1]RTBS[/option1]
[option2]moonlight or pearl gourami (depending on what lfs has)[/option2]
[option3]other (please specify)[/option3]

I think a RTBS gets too big for a 30 gallon, so I wouldn't get that. Personally, I wouldn't get another centerpiece. The angel gets large, and they're gorgeous (), so why do you need another centerpiece?

They shade the glow of it with their mossy-misty costumes,
They wear masks of silk, porcelain, brass, and silver,
So as not to mislead with their own, ordinary faces.

I decided to vote for the shark. Even though I don't know how it would be with an angel.

Pearls are actually more peaceful than gouramis of similar size and they're very graceful.

I like gouramis. But I think RTBS are really really cool too, so its a toss up for me
