hey puffer ppl

im going to be getting a small tank for my bday and i want some kind of FW puffer, not dwarfs tho.
im considering this puffer http://www.pufferfish.co.uk/aquaria/species/pufferfish/types/carilort.htm
so what minimum tank size would they need, what substrate would they need, ect.

Thanks

Minimum, 10g/puffer. Best kept as a single or in pairs. Heavy cover is a must. I had a female at 1st. Bought 2 more females & a male. She killed the other 2 females within a week. After spawning with the male 3x, she killed him too. Only puffer I've ever had that bit me!

Sand isn't necessary, they do not burrow. Plants are fihne. They like cover & do hide a lot. I'm sure you know, the males are much more colorful than the females, if you're only gonna get 1.

Loretis seemed to be pretty docile for me, at least for the time I had them. However, most other reliable resources, including ppunk herself, seem to disagree, so it's better to take a good amount of precaution. If you can get c. irrubescos, which are fairly similar in size and appearence to the loretis, you should get those. They seem to be a bit more tolerant of other puffers, and are just as stunning.
