There is red stuff growing on the plants in my tank.

What is this?

It might be some kind of algea, the back glass of my tank gets covered by a thin red carpet of algea, never seen it on the plants though. What structure does it have?

So here I am once more...

it just looks like instead of the plants being green, they are red.

What plants are they, maybe they are supposed to be red?

OK, then it probably is algea. I expect it´s rather hard to scrape of, right?
I havn't really tried to get rid of them from my glass becouse they make a pretty nice background, dark red, so I can´t really tell you what might help if you really feel a need to combat them. My algea eater has never showed an interest in it, but then that goes for most algea...

If you only have fake plants you could try less light but in my case it is in the darkest part of the tank and the red colour also implies that they preffer darker environments so maybe you should rather try to increase lights. What light do you have? Estimated watts per gallon and on for what timeperiods?
