hey, i am planning on making a new planted tank either, 20-29 or 40 gallon tank. not sure yet, it depends on how many fishes i plan to put in it.

currently thinking of the following species
pygmy cory
habrosus cory
pygmy sunfish (elassoma evergladei)
epiplatys annulatus
cherry shrimps
and bumblebee shrimp (if i can find any)

and probably one other type... a mid swimmer, any ideas?

feedback?

Sounds great to me. Just make sure the cories are in schools (atleast 3). Maybe you could have 1 or 2 angels as a centerpeice, or a pair of gouramis? The dwarf ones are really colorful!

That sounds like I nice tank, I really like my pygmy cories.

IME sparkling gouramis are just as active mid-tank as at the surface.

Small rasboras are great! Arizona Aquatic Gardens sells emerald dwarf and pygmy rasobras.

Locally I found exclamation points which only grow to 1"

ember tetras are not bad.
and sparkling gouramis would be fine if... they didn't attack my shrimps. i had some before, and they attacked one of my shrimps, as my shrimp was missing an eye, and then it died the next day. and i saw the gourami chasing other shrimps.

hmm... yea i am looking for something uncommon. so probably wouldn't find any neons or cardinals in the tank.
