I'm getting some Endler's from Aquabid and have the option of express or priority mail (no guarantee); express is twice the cost.

The fish will be travelling from Miami to Maryland, our weather has been a bit cooler at night and in the mid-70°s during the day. Would priority be ok?

I just shipped Kribensis to Ca. from Co. It took 2 days and they arrived alive and well. Inko's going to ship me a Front and he'll be going Priority Ca. to Co.

I think Priority would work in your case. I'm sure they'd make it in 2 days Miami to Maryland.

Getting fish in the mail is such fun, Mike.

Ask if they can add a heatpack.

I have been wanting to buy fish online, but have been afraid to. Keep us updated on the fish adventure.
This might be something I'll explore myself soon.
Thanks......

If you've got something to trade we've got a trading thread going in the classifieds. That way you not only get fish in the mail you get to mail them too.

I've been pleased with shipping fish so far and many of mine have come from thousands of miles away in the Asia regions.

You have to realize more than half the fish at your LFS was probably shipped.

The key is finding someone who sells them with good DOA guarentee's.

I have shipped fish from PA to WA ( over 3000 miles ) I shipped them USPS Priority and it took 3 days. They all arrived in great shape with no losses. I shipped several Cories, several guppies, and few bettas all in the same box ( it was a large box ) as well as other misc live foods and such. I double bagged them all inverting the inner bag so there was no corners I didn't use rubber bands I tied them in REALLY tight knots, as well as added bag buddies 1/2- 1 tab per bag depending on the size and number of fish in the bags. No leaks at all. I have recieved wild caught cories that were packed with alot less care than I packed my box and they all arrived well but had some leaking from inner bag knot to the outter bag but not enough to do any harm. there are alot of different methods out there but this method has served me well. If you havent bought them yet let me know as I can get some for cheap just about always and it I am not that far away from you and either could meet you.

Thanks for all the replies

I've recevied fish in the mail before, once from a breeder and other times from online stores; haven't had any problems yet. I never had them shipped priority though but I think I'll go ahead and give it a try with these.

I've been breeding Endler's for a while and have lots. The majority of them are peacocks, although I've started seeing some males with blue showing. The auction fish are snakeskin chest...I'm hoping some add some variety to my line.
