Should breeding of siblings be avoided, like w/mammals?

It's very common in fish, and usually necessary to tie down certain characteristics. Generally it's not seen as particularly bad, although as in mammals the bad points are magnified as well as the good. Usually after about four or six generations one should outcross.

And it's not always so bad in mammals - the famed example is Cleopatra, known world-wide as beautiful and brilliant, and the product of a very long line of Ptolemy family brother/sister marraiges.
