I just bought a 29 gallon tank, and set it up yesterday. It has a natural looking river rock substrate. I wanted to make this a South American tank, but I need ideas. I wanted a school of six to eight cories, maybe an angelfish or two, but I really can't think of much else. The only thing that I'm set on are the cories. What are some good fish to put in this tank?

With a school of cories, and a couple angelfish you're probably going to be nearing tank capacity for a 29 gallon. I have a 29 gallon tank; 4 Ps. Saulosi and 5 Zebra Danio's and some people would say I'm overstocked.

BTW, I don't know if cories are compatible with angelfish.

I know cories will work with angels, I've tried it before. I'm not sure I really want any angelfish, my sister wants them. I just need some ideas on other kinds of fish I can keep.

This is just me, but you asked for opinions didn't you?

1) 2 German blue rams or gold rams

2) 6 albino or panda corys (because they are smaller than some other corys)

3) 6 red serpaes OR lemon tetras OR flame tetras OR penguin tetras OR head and tail light tetras

4) 6 rummynose tetras OR black neon tetras OR cardinal tetras

Good luck

I think the cories I will get are going to be pandas, the store where I bought my tank has them. I would love a pair of bolivian rams, but I'm having a hard time finding them. As for tetras, I'm not really a fan, but penguin and black neon tetras do look nice. And yes, opinions are welcome.

You can have Corydoras, Rams & Tetra in the same tank. All these fish go together & need the same water requirements.

There are alot of Corydoras & Tetra's to choose from.
