Now that the dog is finally starting to get somewhat well-behaved, I want to get my aquarium looking nice again. ![]() Its a 110 liter tank, with a decent amount of plants and some driftwood. The current fish are: 16 cardinal tetras 1 bronze cory 1 peppered cory 1 adult bristlenose catish 2 sons/daughters or the bristenose 1 betta 1 pearl gourami 1 guppy The two small bristlenoses and the guppy are (hopefully) going to be moving soon. I know I need to get more cories- I started out with several, but some have died. I'm considering getting rid of the gourami too... What else could I do? ![]() |

It would be nice to have two schools of six each of your cories, but you don't have the room. For now, add three or so cories. You could probably keep the gourami if you wanted, but that's a personal choice. |

For that size tank and what you've said so far, I suggest: 1) The stock you listed is too big for that tank, provided that you up your cory school to 6. 2) Good job on making the cardinal school nice and big, but what about reducing it to maybe 10 or so, so you have more stocking space to work with? 3) As you said you know, the corys need to be in a school of at least 6. 4) Really all three bristlenose plecs should go. They can potentially get too big for your tank. Instead I recommend a clown plec. 5) Sometimes bettas have problems being in larger community tanks. Other fish like to nip at their fins, and sometimes the filter can be too strong for them. Your gourami would be a fish to watch out for. Gouramis and bettas don't tend to get along because they are closely related (kinda, they're both labyrinth fish) and one can confuse the other for a rival male. I've seen it happen. For your tank I suggest this: Return the plecs, 6 cards and the guppy and get your betta a new home (a 1g would even be fine). Then stock it like this: 1 pearl gourami 10 cardinal tetras 6 corys 1 clown plec I know that seems like a lot to do, but it's worth it when considering the well being of your fish. Good luck EDIT: Didn't check my spelling ![]() [span class="edited"][Edited by gartenzwerfe 2004-09-05 12:01][/span] |

It comes down to your choice, but you'd be okay with one... Otherwise, everything she told you's on the dot... ![]() PM/email/msg me if you have any questions/comments regarding me or my knowledge or if you want me to read a thread. |
