greenfootball![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Fish Addict Posts: 613 Kudos: 360 Votes: 0 Registered: 23-Jul-2001 ![]() | how much do i need? and how to determine how much?!?! i have a cannister filter with 2 outputs, one is used for co2 reactor, and the other goes to the bio wheel. the water comes out of the reactor is no where near the surface, and the water come out of the wheel is barely moving the water. and the cannister filter is made for a 100 gallon, my tank is 29 gallon. is this enough? and i want as little mechanical things in my tank as possible. |

At most a slight rippling on the surface for circulation. If the tank is heavily planted (assume so if you are using CO2) they will be producing oxygen. The only time you may need surface agitation is at night when the plants are producing CO2 instead of Oxygen, this can be done by running an airstone at night or simply switching off the CO2. I keep my water outlets all below the surface, fish are fine nver seen one gasping for breath. Remember that age and treachery will always triumph over youth and ability. |
