I was in one of the lfs here and saw a sign by the tufa rock, only for saltwater. I asked the guy at the lfs why is bad for fw and he didn't have a good reason. I use a piece in my tank and a know a couple other people that use in their tanks without problems. Does anyone believe that one should not use in fw. We all have african cichlid tank.

It raises the pH and hardness of your water, but since you have an African cichlid tank, it will be perfectly fine in there.
