Well im goin shopping today i got my paycheck finally. well when i was 16 i had a turtle and it died soon b/c i didnt know what i was doing but now more experienced i have decided to put a 5 inch slider with some fish in a 29g tank. is there any fish that could live with the turtle in peace with out getting eatin alive. i dunno but i love to feed leo minows cause he goes crazy trying to catch them for exercise so i guess fast small agressive fish would be the best please comment i need help and yes the 29g is the only tank i have and im not investing anymore of my money into fish tanks b/c im working on my 65 stang.

I wouldn't put any fish in with it and especially if you are going to feed it with live fish. Predatory animals co-habiting with their prey in such an environment will only lead to losses.

Nothing in a 29g... if you had a big tank I would say maybe you could keep it with oscars or something like that, but in that tank you really shouldn't have anything but the turtle.

I agree with superlion. Turtles can coexist with fish, but the smallest fish I've seen kept with them are fish that grow too big for 29 gallon tanks (ie. large cichlids, arowana, pims, stingray), especially if you're not going to fill the tank up all the way.

Hmmm lunch!

That is what Mr Turtle would say.

Unfortunately fish and turtle would only work in a big pond with lots of hiding places for the fish.

Turtles are great! All the best for your setup.

it will eat your fish. but maybe a blue crawfish that would be cool. Just make sure the turtle is big enough or the craw will eat it too. but also make sure the turtle isn't to big or it will eat the craw.

You can get a slider with a fish. Just that, like others said, the fish have to be big enough not to fit in the turtle's mouth. Anyway, your slider will get from 8-12 inches. It depends on whether or not it is a male or a female. Male = smaller. Female = bigger.

A 29 gallon tank will not sustain your turtle for long. Minimum recommended for a male res is 75...so...yea. For temporal usage, you can use a 50 gallon rubbermaid container, but you have to make sure to support the tank, it will bow when more than half of the tank is filled with water.

try the forums at these places to check up on the fish combo with turtle, cheap tanks, and other info you would like to know. =)

I don't know about mixing fish with turtles. I do know that the turtle has to have a place to get completly out of the water when it wants to. Soft shell would be the result of being in the water to much and it would kill you'r turtle. They also like to be able to sun themselves, just make sure they can get out of the sunlight when it wants to aswell.
