Hmmmm, that's ~12g US. Nothing really that big in a tank that size.

-female bettas
-paradise fish (some would argue that size tank is too small though)
-pair of apistogramma or rams
-cherry barbs
-dwarf gourami
-killies

Here are some other cichlid ideas if you're interested.

Giant danios get 6 inches long, which is too big. Tiger barbs get 3 inches long and are active schoolers. Plecos, if they are commons, get over a foot long. Flying foxes get too big for a 12 gallon as well. Leporinus get much too big for a 12 gallon.

The other suggestions listed about are good. If you like cichlids, small shelldwellers or blue rams might be a good choice.

So as not to mislead with their own, ordinary faces.
