I was buying kuhlis tonight, only type of fish in the tank, right? Wrong...employee nets two and says 'hey look, a fry, want it?' Of course I say yes

Very colorful, maybe 1/5-3/4" long...the glass I have it in for these pics is just over 2" wide, in this first pic the two fuzzy things on the bottom are brine shrimp so that gives some size perspective.

Any ideas?

Guppy???? Isn't that an Endler's Livebearer? They don't get much bigger than that.

they usually get cross-bred n what not, which is why they're feeders...either way it's still very pretty.

No, I breed Endler's and this one is definitely more colorful at a younger age than male Endler's are. There also isn't the distinctive split in the tail coloration. It could either be a colorful feeder or a mix, guppies and Endler's will cross-breed.

Here's a trio of my Endler's...an adult male, juvenile male, and female:

I knew you bred them so if it was an Endler's (which I thought at first) you woulda known with no problems. But yeah, it's a feeder guppy.

Definitely a feeder guppy.

They are surprisingly attractive, and very hardy. I greatly prefer them to fancy guppies, and I have sold them for pets on several occasions. They are great starter fish.

I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash.

And definitely a male He's less than half the size of the guppy females but he's shimmying and herding them around And the girls don't try to get away, they just swarm around him Great freebie!

Looks like a good old-fashioned feeder guppy to me. I has a few feeders about 10 years ago... I haven't really seen feeder guppies sold in stores for a long time (goldfish, and rosy reds seemed to replace the guppies), what happened?
