Its no big loss to me really, but I lost a mystery snail. I was wondering which of these 2 types of fish could have eaten him?

Siamese fighter
pepper cory

are you sure it was eaten?

Snails decompose fast, because their mostly water.

my guess is it died first and then was eaten.
This also happened to me lately as well.

I highly doubt any of those fish would try to kill/eat a mystery snail. I would say it died first then was eaten. Even if a fish wont kill another fish to eat it most fish will still eat dead fish.

well before it died I noticed it trying to climb out of the tank alot. I thought it was trying to lay eggs. But now that its dead Im wondering if it was trying to stay away from a nippy fish.

I had a snail in my 29g w/peppered cories, bettas, and other fish too. I found the snail's shell empty on the bottom of the tank one day (he'd been sitting there for a few weeks, but had been sticking his siphon out occasionally, so I knew he was alive).

I'm guessing that it died and was eaten by the cories...but it may have been killed by the betta...

fighters have been known to kill snails, but i would have thought that one would be too big...

They lay eggs above the water line, so it wasn't trying to get away from anything.

thats what I thought it was doing too Tim. I wanted to clean the glass and moved him off the spot he was in and a day later it was dead.
