All the fry are doing amazing, most look like little fish now, having grown fins and a shape, I'm not a breeder, so you will have to excuse the terms I use to describe the fry ![]() Any way, to the point. A couple of days ago, I was siphoning debris from the bottom of the tank, and found some worms, they looked like two different types, but I am guessing its just one, (adult and baby). The first I found was about an inch long and reddy brown in colour, the second was all white, apart from the head, which was black, about six millimeters long. Both where round and thin, and what made me think they may both be the same type of worm was they both swam in a figure eight pattern raising them a little above the tank floor, then they would stop wiggling and drop back to the bottom. Q.1...What are they? Q.2...Can they harm my fry? Q.3...What should I do about them? I only saw them on this last change, after placing back the bog wood I have moved for cleaning around the bottom of the tank, I was just having a final check to make sure I hadn't missed anything, and found one of the "adult" worms right under the sponge filter I have in there, it wasn't there when I was syphoning...could they be living in the filter, that until going in the fry tank, had been in my main tank maturing, for around one year(since the last spawning) Any thoughts/advice/help welcome ![]() |

I think the fry like them, what ever they are, I saw one of the fry trying to eat one of the worms this morning, not that he could fit it into his mouth, but any way, I would still be interested from any one who could tell me what they are and how they got there. |
