I really doubt your lfs sold a dyed betta. They come in a vast amount of colors and tail types. Theres no point it dying them.

if you really don't want a betta, make yourself a tiny filter, good lighting and a tiny cave. find some small live plants, n put a male guppy, maybe a snail n a shrimp...I personally think the betta idea would be much better and easier.

That or take it back and get a ten gallon...Otherwise you can put a betta in it, or a betta, or maybe a betta...I'd take it back myself...Though Pancake had an interesting idea...:%) But, don't put any guppies in there, it would be suicide for them...

I'd say get a male betta and some live plants. You really don't have very many options with a tank that size.

thats a personal question really...just look around and pick your favorite. I have a blue-ish purple one, a red n green one and a solid red one.

Tetra, the best color to get is what color or betta do you like the best? Visit some lfs, and other places that sale bettas, and se if you can find one that calls your attention, that's usually the best way in my opinion...Heidi

Don't buy any dyed fish...what they do is strip their slime coating from their poor little bodies, and shoot them full of coloring, it is torture for the poor little fishies to say the least...and as the mentioned, bettas come in all colors there is no need to dye one...just look and see what you find that interests you...

not in a tank that size...if you want two get a 5 gallon. 1 female would be ok in there though.

Betta, or a ADF....really not much you can do with a 1 gallon. Keep it as a q-tine or hospital tank. Or maybe go with a small planted tank.

I'd just have a male or a female betta in there. Most of the smaller fish that could fit are schooling fish.
