Maybe 2 or 3 for your tank. They've worked wonders for my aptasia. Just don't confuse them with camel shrimp. I'll bet a good skimmer will help, and getting that sump running too. Plus if you could get some cheatomorpha growing in the sump that would help a lot I'm sure. If I were you I'd up the WC size to 10-15 gallons, until it all clears up.
