I am planning a 20 gallon aquarium with only invertabrates and live rocks (no fish). I'm wondering what invertebrates I should keep, what kind of live rock would be best, and what equipment and chemicals I'll need (besides a skimmer, filter, and salt).

Thanks in advance!

You dont really need too many chemicals, maybe just a calcium/alk buffer, and of course a dechlorinator if you aren't using RO/DI water.

What inverts are you interested in? If you ask us we'll stock it the way you want, which wont be the same as what you want. Just remember to stay with things that are semi small, since a 20 gallon tank isn't all that big.

I think feather dusters, anemones, and hermit crabs are really cool. Do feather dusters need to be hand-fed, or do they just need to filter the water sand stuff like that? Are there any anemones that dont need to be hand fed?

EDIT: Skimmer Question: What does a good skimmer cost (on average)? Can anyone suggest an effective and moderatley inexpensive brand?

Thanks!

I'm in the process of stocking my 2g nano...inverts only

I've got 2 shrimp, a turbo snail, and some spaghetti worms and nerite snails and stuff that came on my 2.2lbs of LR

I'm planning on one, maybe 2 blue leg hermits, and some Xenia and 'shroom corals when I get some money

In a 20g, I'd probably put a coral banded shrimp (they can fit, right?), 2-3 turbo snails, some blue leg hermits, a scallop or 2...maybe a couple slugs, and some other stuff. Not positive if that could all work together or if they could fit in a 20g, but I'm guessing they could... might want to check into that
