I was thinking of using 2 large internal canister filters with charcoal and biological media, a 2'' bed of coral sand and a couple of kilos of live rock and stocking with 5 or six cardinals. under 2 or three marine flourescant bulbs. i'll also put a medium sized skimmer on the side. what do you think? will probably avoid RO water for financial reasons. could you give me an idea of whether this will work and how long i shoudl leave it before i stock and how much i shoudl budget for the whole thing? many thanks. |

In a tank that small, they would start fighting and before you know it most will be dead. If you can find a store employee willing and able to do so, get just one male and female. Banggais just don't seem to get along as well as other cardinals do. Off the top of my head, I'd say you could spend between 200 or 300 pounds for the whole setup, including fish, heater, stand, and the stuff you listed. I'd let the rock sit for three to four weeks before stocking. |
