Came accross this at the Melbourne Aquarium recently. It didn't seem to have a little ID/info tag thingy like most things do at aquariums & it's got some of us stumped.

Anyone got any idea?

Sorry about the slightly qustionable pics, if you can't see them, it seems to have little 'legs' that it's foraging with... very odd indeed!

It looks like it's from the Mandarin/Blennie family.

Manderin shape head & Blennie shaped body.

I second the goby. It looks like a sand sifter by the "shovel" shape of its mouth. I have never seen one with these colors, etc. so that's about as much help as I can offer.

I saw a bunch of those at the Monaco Aquarium, they were in the "Mediterranean natives" room, if that helps. They had about three fish ID things in the whole building though, so I'm no help on species.

I was doing some research, there appears to be many species in this family. Which species, I could not accurately identify it with any.
