I just found this crab at the highest point in the tank holding itself upside down not far from one of the sump return outlets in the strong current. I picked it out straight away (as we've had problems with xanthid crabs) and put it in a cup. http://www.algaescrubber.net/img/crab.jpg Note the massive array of eggs!:http://www.algaescrubber.net/img/crab-eggs1.jpg Eggs close up =) http://www.algaescrubber.net/img/crab-eggs2.jpg She was spawning in the tank! Half the eggs have been released in the cup now and they're swimming towards the light. I know that even the best algae eaters can become fish predators, but what's the word on these? Thanks. Tom |
