Harlequin Shrimp | |
sirbooks Moderator Sociopath Posts: 3875 Kudos: 5164 Votes: 932 Registered: 26-Jul-2004 | We got two of these critters at work and they're awesome. They're in a tank with some sand sifting starfish, so naturally the shrimp are pretty happy with that arrangement. These shrimp are crazy looking.:%) Has anybody here kept or seen them before? I almost want to try them myself sometime. |

They are really cool looking, I dont remember ever seeing them in person though I'd love to. -Formerly known as the Ferretfish |

People would look around in the tank and gasp when they saw the shrimp, and say how interesting it was. Oftentimes that reaction lead to the customers ordering their own specimen. We just put hardy things in it like mushrooms and some macro algae... I think the shrimp was the only "real" animal in there though. We did water changes on it every day. Has anybody been able to get them to eat something other than starfish? I haven't heard any accounts of this so far. |

What I would do is search through the live rock when we got our shipments of it and pick out any small starfish on the rocks to put in the shrimp's tank.
