Is is okay for a Flame Hawk with a Banded Coral Shrimp?

I know that Hawk fish are shrimp hunters, but with Flame and Long nose they stay small hence should be okay with shrimps especially with those nasty Banded Coral Shrimp. That's what some guy in my LFS saids.

True, but lfs employees are not always trustworthy. Do you have the hawkfish or the shrimp already? If so, what size is it? A young/small hawkfish might work with a good-sized shrimp, but that depends on how much of a size difference there is between the two.

And when he gets to Heaven, to Saint Peter he will tell: "One more Marine reporting, Sir! I've served my time in Hell."

If it wanted, it would still be able too.

Apparently the Long Nose Hawks put on quite a show when killing shrimp. Obviously they have very small mouths, so they grab they shrimp and bash it aganist something untill it dies. Then eats the leftovers.

lol..I heard of that as well..I asked the qz of how long nose with such small mouth eat the shrimp..and the answer I heard is the same as you described...what a fish they are.

I currently have a banded coral shrimp, from it's head to tail (exclude claws and antenna) it is about 4-5cm.

But to answer your qestion, yes a small hawkfish could still kill a shrimp. It may not, but it defentinally could.
