I just went to the beach & I saw this poor little fishy struggling against the waves do I put it in a bucket to let it regenerate. About 10 mins later I let it go .

I was wondering what fish could it've been? here is the discription,

flat eel-like tail, transparent-ish
small barbles
colour, black with Yellow stripes
it was small, maybe just a baby though
its stripes are like the stripes on this fish
Its eyes were a dark reddish brown colour I think..
I found it in Australia

Thanx

Plotosus Lineatus???

Well, in chat we've established it was a Plotosus Lineatus, a.k.a. Coral Catfish, Eel catfish, striped eel catfish, eel-tail catfish

Max Size: 12"

A quote from TFH: "Handling these fish is extremely dangerous. Their sting is excruciatingly painful, and potentially lethal. Aquarists have been envenomated even using nets. If you are stung, place the wound in water as hot as you can stand, heat breaks own the proteinaceous venom, and seek medical help. Handle and maintain these animals with extreme caution"

so, to sum it up, dud, your lucky as hell

wow! im litterally shaking right now..

edit:MORE clarification! it says juvies are black & that their found in aus!

but it does say that they school..& this one was nowhere near any others..

Maybe it got lost. After all, it was close enough to shore to catch it in a bucket, which really isn't an area for most fish to hang around.

When keeping venemous fish the thing to stress is to be careful and alert around them. Look, but don't touch!

I've found them in Botany bay before..
They usually do school, but as Milton said, it probably got lost.

A juvenile wouldn't usually be able to inject enough venom to kill you. Infact, you would have to handle a juvi fairly roughly for the spines to penetrate the skin.
They're nothing to worry about.
