i just recently have found soem kinda of algie i think growing on my rock its a perpul and tere is a pink color to in my tank i noticed that my snails had some of the perpale stuff on ther shels ehen i first inrodued them into my tank .... could this be a start to live rock

It sounds like coralline algae. This stuff is introduced by way of live rock, and it spreads across surfaces in the tank. Snail shells are one of the surfaces that the algae will grow on, since snails don't exactly rocket around at high speeds.

The coralline algae came in on your rock....its good algae though It uses Calcium to build and grow. I would say that if you have coralline algae going well then your water parameters are pretty good.

I have found more stuff on my rock its liek the perple stuff it comes in a variity of colors now a bright green and black i think there is pink is this good
